Paper records are useful when a phone is unavailable. A separate digital copy reduces dependence on one physical folder, but still needs working access. Plan for both.

Paper folder strengths
A printed record can be read without a charged phone or a connection. Ask the clinic or boarding provider whether it needs an original, a signed certificate or an ordinary copy.
Cloud storage strengths
Digital copies are easier to organize without a growing stack of paper. Access still depends on your account, permissions, device and connection. Do not assume that uploading a document creates a public share link or sends it to a clinic.
Which copy to prepare
- Vet visit: bring printed paper plus phone backup.
- Boarding: confirm the accepted format and required records with the provider.
- Evacuation: bring offline copies as well as a separate digital backup; internet access may fail.
- Insurance claim: cloud copies are easier to forward.

Use the public recovery profile for identification and contact. Keep private medical records and documents in the appropriate private tools within your plan’s limits or another secure record system. A finder scanning the tag does not receive your complete document archive.
