Shared pet care in Driyu: for families and roommates
Most pet households have more than one adult. Shared pet care in Driyu lets each person see and update the same pet profile from their own account without confusion.

Quick answer: Each adult has their own Driyu account; the pet profile is shared with other accounts in the household. Shared adults see the same profile, update fields, receive notifications. Each person’s personal account (login, billing) stays separate.
Why share a profile
One parent is at work when the dog goes missing. Another parent adds a new vaccine after a vet visit. A roommate watches the cat while the primary owner travels. Shared access turns these from “text the owner first” into “just update it.”
What is shared
- Pet identity, photo, description.
- Medical and behavior fields.
- Vet, vaccine summary, recent visits.
- Public-scan-page visibility toggles.
- Notifications when a finder submits a report.
What stays private
- Your account login and password.
- Personal billing.
- Private account-level settings.
- Individual notification preferences.
When to share
Multi-adult households: one owner sets up; shares with the other(s). Older child involved in care: optional sharing. Sitters: temporary share for a trip, revoked after. Or skip sharing and use a handoff packet instead.
How Driyu fits
Sharing is owner-mediated. Driyu does not auto-share. Owner explicitly grants access to specific other accounts. Same profile updates in one place for everyone with access.

Frequently asked questions
Can a shared adult change my password?
No. Credentials are private; sharing is at profile level only.
What if two shared adults edit the same field at once?
Last-saved wins. For routine fields this is fine. For critical safety fields, coordinate.
Can I share with someone outside the household?
Yes, with their consent. Sitters often appreciate temporary access; revoke after.
Does sharing show on the public scan page?
No. Sharing is internal; not visible to finders.
